With the warmer temperatures, many are rushing out to nail salons to get beautiful nails to show off in their sandals. Sadly, you may be getting more than you bargain for when many salons and aestheticians fail to use basic hygiene.
This news clip is from nail salons in Texas, but there I’ve seen similar problems in nail salons everywhere. When nail technicians fail to clean and sanitize their tools, patrons are at risk for contracting: fungus, virus and bacteria.
Given that many salons provide additional services such as waxing and other personal care, I think its safe to assume that the unsanitary conditions can spread throughout the entire salon fairly quickly.
As a personal injury lawyer, who has represented adults and children in various nail salon injury and infection cases, I find the caviler sanitation approach used at some salons absolutely repulsive. As a patron, I suggest you demand to see that tools used on you have been sanitized or brand new. If not, I suggest you find another facility for your beauty rituals.
